I have seen this debated but I haven't seen it answered by someone in authority. Does the "Fall Colors Contest" mean a colors contest taking place in the fall or does it mean a contest about fall colors?

opinionated: Fall Colors Contest refers to the season in which the contest is taking place, not a seasonal palette itself. Hope that clears up the confusion :)

Thanks gregory :) I thought that was the case but had seen so many comments like "these aren't fall colors," and nobody seemed to correct them so...I wondered.
I am loving this contest (except the mean people).

Hello,
I was wondering how the votes are tallied for the Fall Colors Contest. I've been following it for a while now and have noticed the snarky comments across many entries and possibly some very, er, self-induced voting strategies. Is the total score just the total number of insta-finalist votes? If it is, I wonder if some sort of weighted score system might make it more fair. Maybe something like +1 point for insta-finalist, +.5 points for in contention, and -1 point for no way jose.
Just my two cents...

Last contest it was 2pts. for Gold, 1pt. for Silver and -1pt. for bronze. I don't know how they will tally it on this contest.

What's up with the change in font style & size on some of the main page entries? It's really small & hard to read.

Janice: Hopefully that issue with fonts is no longer visible. But thank you for pointing it out...our Mac FireFox browsers were not displaying the errors, while everyone else saw it, so we appreciate the heads up!

I just bought two nightstands off ebay, they are black lacquer with white piping, sort of regency style. After getting them in person they need to be redone.
Anyone have a clue where I find a place or person that can redo the lacquer finish for me??? Hopefully, it won't be fortune.
Thanks,
stacey

I'd like to buy some dupioni silk by the yard and have someone sew a hem and a lining in for drapery. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone to do this? Thanks!

Does anyone know a comprehensive website for whatever authority regulates apartments in Los Angeles? (Housing Commission??) I'm getting ready to move my apartment and I just feel like my landlord is going to screw me anyway she can out of my deposit. I thought if I could quote some regulations at her, she'd back off.
Thanks,
Cheryl.

Cheryl,
My favorite go-to source to start researching a low-key legal question is Nolo.com. They have a section on renters' rights and a book you can buy. Plus they have some info on where to read the state statutes.
Click on my name for a link to the renters' rights article. Good luck.
