HELP! Which is the best color for a leather daybed--creme, black or brown? Each would go in the room but I think each would give a different feeling to the room. I trust you to share which is the most chic and enduring.
(This is a gift for me.)

I think it depends what color schemes you tend to embrace. If you return again and again to high-contrast urban-chic schemes (black/white/gray or black/white/bright), I'd go black.
Being more attracted to beiges and blended schemes (beige/peach/gray, beige/gold/gray, beige/subdued red/black), I chose my leather chair in brown.
Cream and white are for people who don't have pets, spills, and the more annoying sorts of urban dust, or who really enjoy daily cleaning. (Or, to be fair, if the whole color scheme is so pale that brown or black would "pop" too much. But again, that's a lifestyle with less mess than mine.)

Thanks Wende, I appreciate your thoughtful reply.
The wood floors are a medium oak. I have a red Bokhara. The wooden parts of the furniture tend toward dark. Gray upholstery on the couch and 1 chair. 1 chair has red upholstery. I'm thinking of reupholstering the furniture...but the daybed is calling my name.

I have a Fatboy Original on my wish list for the upstairs loft/lounge area. Anybody have any ideas where I might acquire one in the Los Angeles area? Otherwise it might have to be mail order. I'd like to see it first....

I am painfully boring this year. The only thing I can think of for my wish list is a sifter for the kitchen. Yowza - I need to get a life!

Based on what you describe, seems brown leather might fit in the best, given its traditional nature and neutral aspect. But if "fitting in" is not the intent, I'm intrigued by the cream leather choice...
