Just one more day and we can exhale and wish February "au revoir", the big news being next Monday we'll be announcing the winners of the February Jumpstart Project! Be sure to check out some of the other judges over at The Kitchn, Unplggd and Ohdeedoh.

Is it possible to put an older desk outside (in Ohio)? I don't care about it but I don't want it to rot in less than a year. Do I need to paint or treat it in some way?

I'm interested in tips to hide my air conditioning unit that juts out of the window. It's so ugly! right now i have a plant in front of it. Any other suggestions?

Sydney - I have the same problem. I always used very light, white roman shades. The white allows light get through while obscuring the a/c. It's easy to just pull up when you're using it. If you have curtains, you can install it under it.
Right now, i have long drapes over it. Because it's scrunched at the top, the bulge in the window isn't noticable.

I'm wondering why Los Angeles scavenger doesn't appear on this site as frequently as the other AT cities. Anyone know? I'm so jealous of all the other lists I see!

I'm really hoping to finish my wood floor project by the end of this month! I've successfully stripped all the white paint off my vintage oak floors (via citrus strip), now i've got to stain and finish them! After much vacillating, I've decided to use my own mix of pure tongue oil and citrus solvent (natural mineral spirits) from Real Milk Paint.com.
on a side note, I want a pouf! are there any LA stores that sell them? Also, lots of Vagina Monologue shows going on right now! Everyone should go!!! and LOST is so good I can't stand waiting between weeks
