The other day, we shared a great tip for cleaning out the closet painlessly, which works great for clothes that hang. But what about clothes in drawers? Flipping through In Style's Makeover edition today, we came across a similar tip that works on folded clothing...
Put your folded items in the drawers "belly out" or "neck out," your choice. Then, when you return them to their place, slip 'em in the opposite way. Again, you'll quickly see in a few months what you're not wearing. Fairly painless but it only works if you actually fold your clothes before you put them away.

Isn't it easier to just put the clothes you wear on top - and the ones that gravitate to the bottom are obviously not getting worn?
Same w/ hanging - Simply rehang everything on the right and everything that collects on the left is what's not being worn.

People must have a lot of clothes to not be able to remember what gets worn and what doesn't just by looking at it.

I have too many clothes, and I know what I wear for the most part... but then there are those I don't wear often but really fit the bill at certain times. It's the different seasons that make it difficult, by next November I can't remember how useful certain items were all of last winter.
Mostly... I have a few shirts stored in drawers that are the ONLY things that work under certain sweaters! I can't give them up.
I'm a hoarder. Woe is me.

I turn clothes inside out before folding at the beginning of the season. Fold them right-side out after that. At the end of the season if some shirts or pants are still inside out, off to Goodwill they go!
