When organizing, are you left with a pile of things that you're just not sure what to do with? And you're burnt out? So you just shove it somewhere? We've found that we need to cast a wide net of support before embarking on a major declutter or organizing effort otherwise we do just that, give up when we're so close to finishing. So along with the Cure, we have a couple of other tools we like to call upon:
• As we've talked about before, it might be a little 'mom' (and what's wrong with that we ask?), but we love flylady.net for her simple routines, can-do attitude and easy assignments.
• An admitted inspiration for Cure writer (and our personal guru) Maxwell is Karen Kingston's Clearing your clutter with Feng Shui. It's a straightforward book about why we have clutter and how to let it go for our own health and well being. (Right now you can get used copies on amazon for $3.69).
• Laughter. Organizing and living in a mess can feel totally overwhelming and heavy. We find our humor in books like I Feel Bad about my Neck by Nora Ephron and anything by David Sedaris. Anything to help put things into perspective.
• Inspiration. Sometimes it really helps to know where we're going with all this and not lose sight of our goals. So we seek inspiration from house tours, smallest coolest winners and things that have inspired us in the past.
• Where do you find your support?

Just a quick note...
I would not put any prints or photos of any value in a bathroom. The humidity levels and changes will Ruin them!
Yes, even if they are in a sealed frame!

Who makes that pedestal sink in the photo? It's really pretty and looks both modern and classical.

I clearly don't have enough support for decluttering--I just stuck some "not sure what the heck to do with" stuff back into my closet to get it out of the way for when guests came this weekend. Granted, most of it WILL make its way out, and is in a labeled container, but still...

I ALWAYS end up with bits and pieces that I don't know what to do with and end up putting them into a box or basket to deal with later. Later arrives, and I'm full of determination to get it all disposed of one way or another. I rarely do.

I'd love to find out where I could get a cabinet like that. It's precisely what I need for my storage-challenged bathroom.

My best decluttering inspiration (I have many) is my parents garage... may I NEVER have that much stuff. From the day they bought the house, the car has never fit in there.

dcaries, I'm with you. My in-laws' house is my best de-cluttering inspiration, for the same reason.
