Heather's Organized Home

061909espana-04.jpgA place for bills to land? Check. A spot for shoes, reusable bags and miscellaneous items? Double check. What we love about Heather's organized home is that she's thought of everything. Every item has a home and more importantly, it's accessible...

061909espana-03.jpgMost of us tend to be pretty overwhelmed when we return home after a long day. Keys end up in one place, bills in another. Heather makes her entryway a catch-all zone for important items that need a place to land.

061909espana-02.jpgIf you're anything like us, you're a visual person at work. If an important piece of paper is filed--forget about it. On the other hand, papers left out tend to look messy (and drive us crazy). Heather shows us the perfect solution--containers in arm's reach with easy to read labels.

061909espana-01.jpgWe love these recycling bins from IKEA. Because they stack, they save much needed space in the recycling zone. Again, Heather uses labels so everyone is on the same page.

I bought those stackable boxes for exactly the same reason, but unfortunately they didn't fit where I had hoped they would go.

I kept one and use it for dry dog food! It flips open for easy scooping, and blends away into the background when closed. Much better than digging arm-deep into a neon pink dog food bag.

I don't keep enough stuff to need a whole system to store it in.....but I think it is important for everyone to find a way to keep their things organized.....regardless of how much or how little they have.

All of that except the very top photos, I love!

Also love the handbag on the door handle - who's it by?

FantasticMrFaux: The file folders are on the all because I'm a very visual person, being a photographer :). It helps me greatly to have them up in full view so I can easily see whose wedding is coming up next, whose is being processed, and which ones have not been photographed yet.

Scootergirl: Thanks! You actually can see all the before and after pictures of the whole house here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/espanaphotography/sets/72157619806802183/ if you want :).

Yeti3a: I have NO idea who the handbag is by actually! Chuckle :). I found it at Goodwill for $1!
