Not only is our own closet floor littered with extra lamps, shoes we've been meaning to go through and framed art we haven't hung yet, but the shelf above the hanging clothes is overflowing with piles of tee shirts that need to be edited, scarves that need to be wrangled and pants that don't fit anymore. Yeah, we need to clean house and Jet's closet is just the inspiration we need:
From Jet:
"I added grasscloth wallpaper to the interior walls of my closet and bought a nice shelf to place things in. I think it gives the closet a high-end feel without the big price tag. I added some artwork that was done by my nephew as well. "
All we can say is Wow. To have space in our closet to have artwork? To have the time to line the inside of the closet with grasscloth? These are the stuff of dreams. So even if we can't reach this kind of closet nirvana, we'd still like to use this as inspiration for making a dent in the chaos that has taken over.

I always envy people in warm climates who don't have to stash coats, snow pants, snow shoes, and boots in their closets.
Ditto all the minimal one-shelf landing strips I see on AT. I always wonder: where do they keep their boots, umbrellas, hats, gloves, scarves, snow goggles... then I realize it's ATLA. Sigh.

You are right Lisa (Montreal). It sure does make life easier. I don't really have to store any winter type clothing other than a handful of sweaters and long sleeve pj's. I could see where it would be really hard to pack up winter clothes for a whole family year after year and find adequate storage.

17 shirts and no pants? My closet would look great too.

Wasn't a similar closet posted a few months back?
And weren't we all astonished about the artwork in the closet - not to mention how impractical that is for most of us?

hmmm... where are the pants and shoes? I congratulate him on his streamlined wardrobe, but I am vary happy with my ELFA setup - it makes use of every possible little space in my closet.

I know a number of guys who have closets that are similarly tidy and half-empty. It also helps if you don't wear pants or shoes.

I love when guys keep their long-sleeved shirts rolled up! Chic!

Most of my closets are organized in a similar style because I have 4 of them.

Erm...considering this is APARTMENT therapy, and not House With Tons of Closet Space Therapy, I think it's safe to assume most of us have more clothes, shoes, coats, sweaters, pants, skirts, etc. Even in warmer closets, I think most people have a lot more than that in their closets. It's pretty to look at, but do they have everything stuffed in their dresser?

I wish that my husband's closet would look like that...

bepsf -- This is the same closet posted before - I recognize the huge black and white boxes and the rolled sleeve shirts.
I only have one hanging rod in my closet but it's filled rather than half empty because I actually have clothes there - like pants! This person is barely using their closet.
I don't get the artwork in the closet - most of the time the doors are going to be shut, so whats the point? Are you honestly going to take someone into your bedroom and show them your closet? LOL - where I come from, you'd be seen as pretty damn weird if you did.

This is pretty much what my husband's closet looks like, because he keeps a fairly minimalistic wardrobe. My closet? Not so much. I have to store winter and summer work appropriate clothes, and winter and summer casual clothes. And pants, too. ;) My shoes ended up in his closet, for lack of another option. He wasn't happy about it. He liked his naked closet.

I need to edit out some stuff, I know. But I do love having choices! I keep telling myself to invest in matching hangers to make it look better but it's towards the bottom of my to do list.

What you wanna bet that just to the rigt of the right bi-fold door are the pants, just out of view. :-)
That said, if I can get my closet to look half as good as that, I'd be happy but it also calls double duty as extra storage of non clothing stuff as well, but some editing can't hurt here either and I will be tackling that soon.

Oh, I should say, my bedroom closet is rather huge and also has my dresser in there.
view ciddyguy's profile
Ummm where are the rest of his clothes? Like pants...sweaters...jogging pants...pjammas...socks...etc etc.
I mean ok let's say he has a dresser...this still seems pretty empty.
Anyone as weirded out as I am?

alisaan - AYE! I really don't think this setup is something the user of the closet uses on a daily basis - it looks much more like something set up for a photo.
