Look! Dishsoap Dispenser

atla-070108.jpgIn the quest for an unlabeled, streamlined life, dispensing dish soap into an attractive container is a first step that goes back to Martha. But the decorated dispensers she suggests are a little too frou-frou for us. We've been using the Karim Rashid designed soap dispenser (we know it's vehemently disliked by many but we like that we can use it with one hand) filled with Trader Joe's soap. We've had half an eye open for a replacement and we think we've finally found something we like...

This glass cruet, made from break resistant Borosilicate glass, has that laboratory look we've always loved and a collar to catch drips so it doesn't leave sticky soap rings on our kitchen counters. Available through Chefs Planet.

I just reuse the bottle from Bed, Bath & Bodyworks Antibacterial soap, (non foaming one) sans the label and it looks sleek and beautiful, easy to pump with one hand.

this looks exactly like a traditional Catalan oil pourer:

i wonder if the dish soap might not be too viscous to pour easily out of this

I agree w/ VickyA -- it may be break resistant, but I wouldn't want to risk it with something that I would almost always handle with wet hands. I'd rather use it to dispense oil for cooking.

Every time I see 'soap dispenser' 'quest' and 'Martha' in the same sentence I lose the will to live.

I don't like. It would be cute in a boys bathroom or a gas station bathroom.
