In your home, it's easy to fill up a bookcase, tabletop or sideboard with stuff. Just stuff. Lamps, books, bills, picture frames, more books, magazines, trays - just stuff. While these may be things that we love to collect or may need to organize or have in a place where we'll remember to do it (pay the bills or grab the keys), sometimes it's just clutter and can seem overwhelming. In this case, why not try to create a negative space in this area?

We spotted this credenza with six black vases recently and felt it showcased the negative space idea well. The negative space opens up the space itself and allows the black vases to pop. When more is just more, it could be time to edit your space and organize. If you are looking for tips to organize your home better,

I think this is very ugly!
Perhaps if the credenza was painted a nice, glossy white then the space would be opened up. As it is the whole thing just looks murky.
