As we shared earlier, we're working on our closet for own Spring Cure 08. It's got two challenges: it's an extension of our home office and it's right off our living room -- so we need it to look extra sharp when it's complete. We're taking a page from our friends over at Martha Stewart...

I have magnetic paint and it says I need to shake it before use - but the paint store doesn't have a shaker for the small sized can - can I use my hand blender or will that ruin it for food? I stirred it the first time I used it, but am worried I didn't get sufficent mixing of the magnetizing iron particles.

I would be afraid to use the blender after putting it in paint. You can buy a paint stirrer attachment for a power drill if you have one. When you used it the first time, was the finished product attracting magnets?

We just used magnetic paint to paint an old entertainment center. We just shook it up and stirred with a paint stirrer. After 4 coats it can hold a very lightweight magnet.
If you want to hold paper etc, I recommend hanging a thing piece of sheet metal and painting it as needed.

mdeathstar, thank you so much for this warning. Hubby and I have been going back and forth weather to use this on the inside of the pantry door.
