Ab Ovo Teak Collection by William Emmerson

Furniture with legs. William Emmerson believes that "the best furniture designs merge elements of past and present styles with a consummate understanding and use of modern technology." He kept these principals in mind when creating his Ab Ovo (meaning "from the egg" or "from the beginning") Collection. The initial inspiration actually came from a dream he had about anatomy, resulting in animal-like legs on the dining table, and wood pieces strung on leather resembling vertebrae that make up the screen.

The Ab Ovo Collection has been designed in both indoor (made of solid walnut with leather strapping and brass bars) and outdoor versions (of solid Burmese teak with cotton rope strapping and brass bars). The teak is harvested on plantations and in not wild (taken from rainforests.) Each piece is made to order and hand crafted here in Los Angeles. We're loving the sensual shapes and subtle irony of the anatomical references, but more importantly the incredible attention to detail that William is known for. The Ab Ovo Collection is available exclusively at William's furniture gallery Emmerson Troop, located at 8111 Beverly Blvd. West Hollywood, CA 90048 323.653.9763

Ditto! The furniture is nice but that light is spectacular.

Found it on Emerson's site - http://www.emmersontroop.com/?nav=product&cat=57&start=0&id=29

It's never a good sign when you have to call to get the price.

Well, maybe in a few years Ikea or Lamps Plus will have something based on it. We can hope.

The lamp is made by Stephen White. I believe he has a studio out of Oregon but no website that I've found. I saw some of his stuff here

http://www.neublack.com/art-design/506

and in the Emmerson Troop show room, I think the represent him.
