There are few finer joys in life than laying out on the grass for a summertime siesta (remember the sunscreen!). But the shameful truth is not everybody in Los Angeles lives close to a park or has a front/back lawn to stretch out upon.

So perhaps LA's Fung+Blatt Architects are onto something with their outdoor furniture mashup, the Lawnchair. The sod upholstered steel chaise even incorporates a watering system so your outdoor furniture doesn't inadvertently change upholstery colour from green to yellow to brown. No word on pricing yet, but we'd love if someone out there devised an affordable DIY solution for us budget-minded apartment dwellers. [via Cool Hunting]
