Many folks are now looking to decorate their outdoor entertaining areas with formerly indoors furnishing and decorative items, bringing out comfy seating, living room style tables, lighting, and even drapery. Our neighbor's front space is graced with a lovely Natural Home outdoor recycled plastic rug from Kelly Green, and it warms up their favourite spot to chill and just watch the sun go down. There are quite a few options of outdoor rugs to choose from now (we only knew a few when we recommended the Natural Home version to our neighbor)...take a peek underneath the jump for the newest from Home Infatuation and many more.

These are great!!

Nice to see outdoor rugs offered in a nice variety of sizes, colors and patterns. Can't beat the prices either.

Just what we don't need - more brightly-colored plastic crap made from petroleum.
What happened to jute, sisal, coir, bamboo, rice or rush straw (tatami) or seagrass? (I love the way seagrass smells and feels on my feet...)

My dog has peed and vomited on all those wonderful grasses--perhaps plastic would hold up better--and if it's recycled, much better.

Oh i love these! In the Philippines, these are called Banigs and yes many of them were made out of plastic, at least the ones I was familiar with. We did not use them as rugs, we used them as picnic blankets and sleeping mats. I do want one just to relive my youth a bit. :)

Cute as these are, they don't last long if they're under furniture. I had one under my patio table and chairs last year. A couple months later, bits of plastic started to flake off from the pressure of the furniture feet. It was a mess to clean.

I love these rugs and have quite a collection.
However, mine tend to last longer inside than out. My ones kept inside are still just as bright, beautiful and clean as they were when I purchased them. The ones outside start flaking when they come in contact with direct sun...a mess to clean up.

Those are some interesting rugs. I haven't seen those before.
For alternatives, there are outdoor area rugs at BoldRugs.
