Paula's Coastal Cottage
Sydney

102709coast01.jpgLight timber floors, white walls, antique timber furniture and linen lounges in a few different colours are the main elements that make up Paula's coastal cottage. Paula purchased and renovated this house within two years, as well as being the editor in chief of two Australian fashion magazines and juggling a family- the results had us impressed.

102709coast02.jpgOriginally a 1950's brick home, the interior was filled with dark flock wallpaper and floral carpet. Working with a local architect to refresh and brighten up the space, they also prepare the building for a 2nd story for further growth in the future. Shared spaces were a high priority for Paula and her family as was much needed bathroom and kitchen renovations. All the hard work in such a short space of time certainly paid off with a bright, family friendly home with lots of elegant furnishings. To find out more about Paula's home visit the Australian House & Garden website here.102709coast03.jpg102709coast04.jpg102709coast05.jpg

Nice home, but are those security bars on the windows?

How delightful - So nice to see a living room where the focal point isn't a massive television.

"...are those security bars on the windows?"

It appears to be leaded glass windowpanes.
