In many ways home exercise equipment is like pet furniture: you purchase it because you think you need it, but it often ends up only being used a couple times, then quickly forgotten, and finally playing the part of decor eyesore. We're not sure boutique gym equipment (as previously blogged by Aaron on ATNY) is necessarily the solution for burning calories and complimenting decor, but we do think this chinup bar shown above seems easy on the eyes, but still hard on the muscles...

The sports furniture collection is primarily intended to maintain physical fitness at home but is at the same time a furniture collection that easily blends into the living space. The collection symbolizes the personal fitness and satisfies the again fashionable drive for movement. The postfossil age will enhance the personal energy consciousness and we are in search of a more efficient and healthy way of interacting with our environment. This path is being supported by the design as well as the choice of materials. The forms are reduced and limited to the essential. The materials are of natural origin and traditional techniques are combined with contemporary design.
Price that chinup bar in the realm of reason and we'd be interested in one to compliment our dumbbells (and great place to hang guests' coats). But for now, a simple Target brand door mount model works fine, maybe complimented by some hill sprints and the Wii Fit.

Gym vs Living Room? Really that necessary? Have we become so alienated to human interaction this is even considerable?

that pullup bar would make a better clothes rack. Gripping a square is not very comfortable and it looks like it is too close to the wall. I have a pull up bar in my house, its chrome, I paid $20 at Sports Authority or one of those other big box athletic stores and it works great. Fits in between a door jam and bolts into place. I use it to do ab work too.

Also, if you're standing on your toes, it doesn't count as a pull up!
