Fun post! I love it when people cater to their pets. I couldn't do the plants, however. My cats would eat them!

Not sure how much I like this. And my goodness. Please edit those inappropriate apostrophes out of this post.

My cats are a little bit, uhmm "chubby" (you know, it is just the fur and heavy bones :-) ), but I really love this idea. Would love to do something like this with small book boxes in the bedroom.

See... my cat is clumsy as all get out. She can barely jump down from the arm of the couch without falling over, let alone teeter on those little boxes. They are cute though, but not my style.

The apostrophes seem to be used completely randomly here. Apostrophes should be for possessives (the cat's shelf), not for plurals (the cats are here.) I'm always so curious, GENUINELY curious: what's the issue? Just don't know the rules? Would be better to just leave all apostrophes out than putting them into words that are plurals or scattering them seemingly randomly about.

Too visually cluttered for me, though I do like the idea of putting small plants inside the shelves.

AT is really popular even outside the US and so several people posting here are not native speakers, including me.

So I hope for some patience from the apostrophe police.

This is a great low price-point, high-impact idea. Like Wes and Kayla's wall of pots a few months back, it harnesses the power of multiples to great effect.

I think this would be a good way to create vignettes or showcase collections (for Ramonah, her plants). For displays of delicate things or for cat-poisonous plants, a piece of plexiglass on the crate front would keep out the kitty-paws.

nicolezh - thanks for the insight! That may be true of people adding remarks to the threads, but that's not true of most AT staff, is it? I'm referring to the text in the main posts--AT's product, the published posts--not the responses in the threads.

My advice (and others may differ) is that, when in doubt, just leave the apostrophes out. I think you get into less trouble, because otherwise, they can seem so random.

nicolezh - are you part of the AT staff?

Oh, the kitties are so sweet. I would like to see a long shot as I feel that all the little boxes might look a bit piecemeal from a distance. Up close, the boxes look cute. But with my two big boys, the boxes would come off the wall, no doubt pulling the brackets, paint job, and plaster with them...

Um, not a big fan. It seems so cluttered that the shelves have two or three uses. A more streamlined look would be preferable for me. I'm thinking of building some cat shelves, so now I know how not to set them up.

love this! i don't find it too busy at all, and love the little creations in each box! lucky cats!

i love the idea but would need stronger looking boxes or give into some plain shelves for my hefty kitties. and they would be delighted to fling those plants on the floor for me...

This reminds me of the later post re frames w/stuff in them. Except with cats. Not a fan.
