DIY Pet Bed: A Cardboard Box That's Cool for Cats

atla-090408-chaise.jpgYesterday we asked if your pet sleeps with you; Laure noted that cats love sleeping in cardboard boxes. If you're one of those people who prefer to sleep separate from your pet but would like something one step up from a cardboard box (although they can be very stylin'), we have just the thing for you...

We found the plans for this cat chaise, built from a cardboard box on Evil Mad Scientist. We imagine it would also work for a small dog. For the complete directions, click here

This is cute looking, but I doubt that my cat will use something like that over my bed.

Wasn't this posted very recently, but with a different cat lounging on it?

I always thought cats liked cardboard boxes because its an enclosed space, not the feel of the cardboard, which is what this leads me to believe.

My cat likes to be enclosed, but he also likes to be comfortable. I think cats prefer to scratch cardboard rather than lie on it.

The design does have a base support built in, so I think it might hold even the tubbiest kitty.

I printed off the instructions and plan on doing this soon. :) My cats go crazy over cardboard boxes.

Our groceries get delivered in cardboard boxes and my cat recently started peeing in them. No way I'm making him a pee bed.

Really? Again? In just 2 days? And on a post as ridiculous as this?

It is becoming more and more frequent that AT bloggers are not checking up on other cities' posts and repeating similar, if not identical, posts within very short time spans.

Is it my imagination, or is Pet Month proliferating a freaking excess of pet posts? I mean, they are interesting. I did like this pet bed the first time, and some of the other posts, but aren't there just too many of them? Compared to other months' themes, I mean, just holy hell, you all are really cramming this topic to overflowing, and just repeating the same things now. I like my cat, some things about living with a cat in an apartment are interesting, I like finding out a little about dogs, but it is 4 days in, and it's just way too many, it's like a pet blog now.

And I wish someone would address the overall tendency to repeats, come up with a plan to individuate cities or at least reduce the instances of repeats down to about nothing, within a set period of time. There's no reason to piss off so many people without coming forward with an idea not to do it. Is Apartment Therapy the new HeadOn commercial?

I'm with ya, K T G, on the repeats.
