The Expedit bookcase is probably one of the most successful Ikea offerings to date, and it could be because it's so versatile and simple. Here, Yvestown modifies hers: the vintage wallpaper is a nice backdrop for the magazine holders and kitschy vases, but it's the cat bed that in the lower right that makes this Expedit unique.

kitty would have stolen a spot anyway, so it's really preventative measures. likely kitty would've chosen the cubby containing the glass vases heheh. i think it looks very very cool!

My cat has the same idea. I have the half version of this shelf and she has a square wicker basket with a small afgan in it!

Yup. Kitties LOVE that thing. Only problem is you forget they're there and sometimes you get a claw "hi!" right at arm level.

I threw some faux fur into one of my expedit's squares. The cats think they're clever cause they found it.
