Can't you just imagine the person who would own one of these admittedly beautiful pet bowls with bamboo stands sets from RedEnvelope? They'd use these to feed their tailed companion, Om, organic pet food made from ingredients from their personal garden mixed in with homemade soy meal, all the while balancing one legged in their newest yoga stance while listening to the serene songs of the humpback whale.
These are actually so nice looking, I'd more likely want to buy them for myself to use since my cats could care less whether their food was served on the finest china or on a paper towel. As long as they get their food on time, we're all good in the hood. I could also imagine serving guests with these. I'd just cover the embossed bone or fish at the bottom of each bowl with enough food to create a surprise for them to discover at the end of the meal. Most people would probably not even conclude that these are pet bowls. Well, except for the kibble I'd leave at the bottom for them as a giveaway.
These are clearly for animals much more refined than mine.
One dog carries her (run of the mill, stainless steel with grippy rubber enhanced bottom) bowl around with her constantly. It's like she's afraid we'll forget her next meal. Granted it's a ruckus when she drops in on the tile but it's the only thing that will withstand her (monster, pit-bull... j/k) jaw strength.
I think it would be hilarious to serve people-food in these bowls.

Nice, I'd get a set of these. No yoga or soy for my dogs... They do only get brita filtered water though.

This is beautiful. I imagine them being re-used to serve nuts to people folk.

Dawn, the description of your dog made me chuckle/swoon in that "it's so adorable, i can hardly stand it" way. I love silly animals like that. A little off the topic, but it reminds me of the way my cousin's pit bull used to rush the fence to bark at people with a teddy bear in it's mouth. The dufus looked sounded so silly with his burly man bark muffled by fluffiness.
The bowls are beautiful, but they look very breakable... My animals would demolish them.

Wait a few weeks and Red Envelope will have them on clearance. I love RE, but I wonder how they make any $ the way they discount everything so often.

The Feline-Americans used to eat from moderately large Chinese bowls on a bamboo tray, and I think we're going back to that plan when we move. Bowls were about $4 each in SF Chinatown and tray was another $4 because it was on the scratch-and-dent rack, so 1/3 the total price of the RE product.

My cats don't care what they eat from, but I have to look at it, at that looks good. I'll let you know how they like their eel and edamame out of it.

Ha Ha Ha.... beautiful and only for dainty gentle dogs.
Now, I must admit... I do home "cook" for my well loved bratty pooch. Yes, most of it is local and/or organic. No, her name is not om. No soy is harmed in the preparation of her meals and in fact... soy is not so good for the pets. A lot of pets have allergic reactions to it... just like wheat and corn.
Maybe I would use this RE set by the door. My keys and crap in the blue bowl, their keys and crap in the white bowl.

My cat would push these straight off that nice little bamboo stand! And get them covered in gravy etc. He also has brita filtered water! Like the idea of having it for keys by the door tho, its very pretty.
