WaterRover

drinking.gifJust like humans, our pets need water. However, carrying an extra bowl can be cumbersome. At the recent Home & Garden show in Anaheim, I spotted a neat solution: The WaterRover. The Waterrover is a bottle that has a lightweight bowl attatched on top. It has a built-in clip so you can put it on your belt or waistband, and it's easy to use.

You simply lay the Waterrover flat on the ground, remove the tab, and the water comes out into the bowl. What's really great about the WaterRover is that after you're pet is done, you tip it backwards, and the unused water goes back into bottle for no waste. See more at their website.

I have something similar called the gulpy and I love it -- I never have to worry if a walk goes on longer than I thought and I needtogetthe dog some water. I like it's design a bit better than this one.

There are several variations of this contraption on the market -- I have the one that can accommodate a regular size bottled water -- but The WaterRover is nicely designed in how the water is dispensed. I don't know about saving the water that Fido has already dipped his muzzle in though -- it's already laced with doggy spit.

When walking around, I like to travel as lightly as possible since I don't know what I'll wind up picking up along the way. If my dog is with me, I like carrying one of those waterproof bowls made of canvas that folds flat and can fit into my back pocket. I can always find a fountain or buy a bottle of water when needed.
