Rosendahl Outdoor Window Thermometer

031108Rosendahldial.jpgWe've always liked the idea of window thermometers, but we're not really too fond of the digital display versions we see out there (they bring too much attention to themselves). Maybe we're just lo-fi, analog throwbacks, but this dial version from Rosendahl is more to our liking...

The clear and minimal unit can be installed onto any window with a "click". Our only problem with it? Although their site mentions both a Celsius and Fahrenheit version, we have yet to find the US temperature-compatible model...only Celsius models online for $39.

I believe the Celsius-only thermometer you linked to at homebrands.com is a different model. It isn't transparent, and apparently it is to be mounted indoors. Those looking for a Fahrenheit version of the transparent, exterior-mounted thermometer would probably do better to look for a local store that carries Rosendahl products. There is a handy retail locator on their website. I put in "Los Angeles" and four hits came up. Even in my own design-desert of a city (Atlanta) there is a store that carries this brand. As far as the exact model being carried, I suppose that's hit or miss, but you could always request it at the store.

Love it!!! However your link is to the indoor model. The outdoor model is available here: http://www.homebrands.com/roceouthbyto.html.

i have one that was considerably less than $40. however, it uses a dreaded suction cup to adhere to the window, and i have to pick it up off the ground all the time.

I didn't have a thermometer for two years because they were so ugly... maybe this one would be it?
