I hope those aren't the infamous radioactive red fiesta ware! Uranium food = bad.

And Misscascadia, the uranium one (Brilliant Red) really isn't that radioactive. It's only risky if you have foods with a high acid content, like citrusy stuff or things with a lot of vinegar - it can leach uranium salts out, then, which can accumulate in the body. The radiation it expels seriously isn't that dangerous - it's fairly weak beta radiation, and you'd have to, say, sit on it for a few days to do any damage. (Even holding it wouldn't be bad, your hands are quite insensitive to radiation - and again, it's only beta radiation, which only travels about a metre. There's just about no gamma activity, and the alpha radiation won't even go through skin.) I'd be more concerned about its lead content!

Of course, being a chemistry nut, I really really want one XD
