101409stands-03.jpg If you happened to make it to this year’s ACL fest in Austin, you witnessed a phenomenon we've been experiencing a lot lately: rain. We found ourselves needing something the other day: an umbrella stand. Always mindful of budget and style, we’ve rounded up 10 affordable and good-looking ones...

We realize that the best umbrella holders may not be items bought for that purpose. What do you use as an umbrella stand? Do you hang yours on a hook instead? Just lean it in a corner? Leave it out to dry in the apartment building hallway? Tell us what works for you!

We use the Beta plant pot from Ikea. Cheap and fits perfectly in our odd corner by the entryway:

I went to the flower district and bought a $7 tall tin pot with handles. It fits 4 umbrellas, the small space in my hallway, and looks great. $100 for an umbrella holder?

@bitdot, which size do you use? I'd love to get one of those beta pots and spray paint it either black or white...

we bought a blue mesh trash can from Target (I think $10?). it allows the air to circulate to dry off the umbrellas.
