Perfectly Gray Rooms From LA House Tours

We've been fans of using gray as a modern looking neutral ever since we did a roundup of gray bedrooms. Now we see it everywhere and love how versatile it can be going from soothing to dramatic depending on the hue:

1. Maxwell and Genevieve's House Tour: Their bedroom was painted the most perfectly soothing color of gray.
2. Lauren's Reborn Bungalow: Uses a warm taupey grey for the dining room to keep things warmed up.
3. Jen's Chic Home: has this deep dark gray that's somehow soothing and dramatic at the same time.
4. Kate and Damien: used small grey tile in their bathroom for a neutral yet chic background.
5. Max and Peter used chalkboard paint and chalk for their grey.
7. Scott's Bachelor Pad: uses a cool grey/blue in the kitchen. It's a great backdrop for brighter colors like orange and yellow to pop off of.

Love gray rooms. In fact, I'm picking out colors for my own place now and contemplating the following:

BM Dior Gray
BM Titanium

Here are some pics of rooms I've done for clients where I've used gray.

I love grey at the moment. I'm thinking about painting the exterior of my house in the colour of the first photo.

Love Image #6!

Could we please have the source of it? (It is listed as Max and Peter's home, but that's actually Image #6.)

mmmm... I'm debating about what to paint my b&w bedroom in the new house. Gray has been top of my list & I think this solidifies it. :) Now... to find the perfect grey!

When we moved into our cottage, our landlord had painted all the rooms light gray with white trim. (The kitchen and bathroom are white) It really looks nice and we decided to leave it. We just add color with art and fabric.

Gray is one of my latest obsessions. My favorite is a mix of cool gray, warm taupe and a citrus accent (yellow or orange), like this: http://tiny.cc/H6Gin

I love my grey (med-dark) bedroom it feels like a sanctuary and very restful.

cozylittlecave - check out Ralph Lauren Moonlight love love love it. I painted the ceiling and trim to match the rest of the house RL-Egret a soft warm white. I have wood floors and a George Nelson med wood cabinet so the grey is a nice background for wood and white and rotating accent colors.

Love light grey, especially when paired with yellow. That kitchen AT features every so often with that combo is heavenly.

Any thoughts on using grey in a room that has no windows? We live in a basement apartment and have been struggling to find a room color that is cozy and not dingy without natural light. Other color suggestions would be appreciated as well!

uptonite--have you considered a nice light grey like the first image with plenty of bright yellow or orange accents? might brighten the place up!

I really wish we knew the color in photo #1 - their house tour says they lost the BM paint chip. :(

I love Gray. We're repainting our apartment in either shades of blue or coordinating shades of gray/blue.

I am loving gray more and more. I recently painted my bathroom gray (walls AND ceiling) and I am thrilled with the way it turned out.

How funny. I was just putting together some ideas for redoing my bedroom and I'm planning on grey walls. The overall scheme is probably going to be grey, cream, and turquoise. Guess I wasn't as original as I thought. ;-)
