We often come across people who subscribe to the "outta sight, outta mind" method (stashing everything haphazardly in a closet or under the bed-- somewhere the mess won't be visible). However, just because you can't see what's hiding in a closed drawer, doesn't mean it shouldn't be organized. We love organized drawers for a few reasons. First, you can see all the contents just by simply opening up the drawer. Organized by color, size or function, belongings are a cinch to find. Using repurposed things like ice trays, egg cartons and cereal boxes make the project that much more rewarding (and less expensive). It's also nice to know when something goes missing (which is easily noticeable with an organized drawer). A label or designated spot that tells you where items live is a great time saver. Not to mention shopping becomes a breeze. Just open your organized drawer and you'll know quickly if you're out of something and need to add it to the shopping list.

I'm a sucker for a well-organized drawer -- thanks for the photos! My make-up drawer in the bathroom is organized with a bamboo utensils drawer (the kind typically used for forks/knives/spoons, etc) -- it holds all my stuff in little compartments, is easy to wash, easy to organize, slides nicely into the drawer, was inexpensive...
So nice.
