Roundup: Alternative Uses For Binder Clips

011309binder-06.jpgWhen we were home over the holidays, we were treated to some of the best nights of sleep we'd had in a while. We're chalking it up to the bedding (mom always had a way of making the sheets stay in place). She uses Sheet Grippers but for the life of us, we can never get them to stay put. Fortunately for us, there are binder clips...

Not only can binder clips help keep your sheets in place, they can also help with wrangling the comforter into its cover.

This closet utilizes binder clips to organize just about everything--we love how even the boots have a place to live.

This creative reuse is from Re-Nest where they get creative storing pencils on a wall space to save desk space.

I don't understand why the sheets are so shifty in the first place.

Daniel,

you clip the edge of the sheet to the rim of the mattress at the bottom where it tucks under.

I think using them to hang boots is a dreadful idea --- those clips are really tight and would surely dent leather (or pleather).

iPhone stand is cool though!

I also use them as chip clips.

Griffin--that's the way I hang my boots, and trust me, I don't want my Dolce & Gabbanas getting mar'd up. I got some from the Container Store that are slightly padded, and they work great. The wider/larger ones are best, clamps not too tight. I suppose an alternative would be to cut a small piece of fabric and "line" the interior of the clamp so that it acts as cushion.

And yeah, I always hang my b&w photos with the small black architectural-looking ones too!

I used binder clips and two pillowcases to fashion "emergency" curtains over a drafty kitchen window. The window has curtain brackets, but no rod. The clips hang from the brackets. It's not gorgeous but it serves it's purpose well.

Binder clips are awesome for hanging art. I pair them with fishing leaders (available at any sports store or even wally world) to hang art from the ceiling in multiples.
