Roundup: Minimalism In The Bedroom

013009bed-01.jpgWe're pretty organized around the house and while we wouldn't say minimalist, our space is definitely not cluttered. Unfortunately, because of space issues, our office is in our bedroom (we know, we know, it's bad feng shui). We can't wait for the day when we can wake up in minimalist surroundings. Until then, we have these great spaces to inspire us...

Comfy linens and the cozy warm glow from an overhead light are all this bedroom needs to function.

We're in love with the pristine bed in this picture (and the offbeat red beach ball and red decorative hanging lamp).

We're dreaming about diving into this bed after a long days work.

Pops of pink, orange and gray make this space inviting.

Taking a cat nap with a fluffy, down comforter is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

In these two minimalist bedrooms, the bedding becomes the focal point.

I'm in love with the second photo though I'm confused by the beach ball like pillow.

I think the beach-ball pillow is at a hotel--I assume an accessory to inspire light-heartedness and a vacation mindset.

I'm all about the farmhouse beds and bedrooms. I'm seriously considering painting my bedroom a moody dark color. Nothing could be sexier.

Those lamps look like boils that need to be popped.

I think they look like dreams rising from the pillows.

The thing about minimalist, white homes or hotel rooms is that they work only if they are kept absolutely pristine. I have stayed in hotels where the decor aspires to this look, but every little ding or spot stands out and screams at you. I could never live with that every day. I'd rather have the reassurance and comfort of slight disorder than the distraction of spots, scratches, wrinkles and dings and pet hair popping out at me.

... that last bedroom (Switch House) is stunning, though.

the beach ball pillow is at the Townhouse Hotel here on Miami Beach.

The rooms are ok. Still resonable rates for the area.

BONDST Lounge in the "basement" and the Rooftop Lounge are the best part of the hotel.

Comicgeek - I agree. I think they would have looked better all the same size and much smaller in size.
