If you're anything like us, you go back and forth with your decor (one day you like it--the next day you're bored with it). One of the easiest ways we've found to transform a room is by changing up the lampshades. Plenty of ways to DIY what you already own after the jump...

Our mom used to perforate lampshades using paper as the base but we're really liking this shade made out of tin.

One of the easiest ways to transform a lampshade is with paint (even better if you've got some leftover paint in the garage from past projects).

We also love adding our favorite fabric to an existing lampshade.

So I was attempting to makeover a lampshade and in tearing off the 30 year old pleated fabric, tore the plastic liner underneath.

Does anyone know where I can get new liner for it? I've tried joann's and michael's and they have nothing. I'm hesitant to use craft paper for obvious reasons. I'd forgo the liner entirely but the bottom ring of the lampshade frame isn't connected to the top portion and it wouldn't hold up with just the fabric I intend to use.

Help?

And I love the idea of perforating a lampshade. It's also fairly easy to paint a cotton or silk lampshade, though I've never tried it on synthetic fabrics.
