Renter's Removable Solutions: Trompe L'Oeil Wood Rug

atla-071808-rrs01.jpgNormally if we were considering faux flooring, we'd check out TrafficMaster Allure Vinyl Flooring. And yes, this lies on that fine line between kitsch and just plain ol' ug-a-ly but we could see where this rug from Urban Outfitters might be something we'd consider, given the right set of circumstances, like in a certain kind of rental perhaps...

If, for example, we moved into one of those modern rental apartments with beige wall-to-wall carpeting, we might consider this in one area of a room to give us some visual relief, to set off one area (an office, perhaps, or a desk) or just because we hate wall to wall carpeting and this would be cheaper than pulling it up one night and losing our security deposit. Printed on microwoven poly with a foam rubber backing. Although it comes in a number of photorealistic patterns, we'd chose from whitewashed, painted or distressed. And we'd definitely have to put out a giant bowl of sense of humour on our coffee table.

Oh Abby...don't apologize in advance or be wishy-(white)washy about whether or not you truly like this. Screw the naysayers!

This post was uncomfortable to read. So many excuses, such an apologetic tone. Just own the idea and deal with naysayers. Have an opinion.

The mat is $140 for 66"l, 46"w. I like cheap jokes. The cobblestone and rock wall are somewhat more effective, in terms of printing, but none of the choices are really very good. Why the manufacturer went with a floor mat, rather than a shower curtain. is a mystery.
