Target Eco-Conscious Doormat

121007_doormat2.jpg

I seem to be at Target a lot these days and it seems I never fail to see something cooler than I would expect to see there. This time it was this Eco-Conscious Doormat.

I love that it's 1) square, 2) brocade style, 3) Eco-Conscious made of natural fibers and 4) $20. We've had our eye on another one from anthropologie that's at least twice as much. We're willing to compromise a little on style since people will just be wiping their feet on it. What do you think? Worth the compromise?

Absolutely, it's very stylish! Anthropologie is overpriced! I think it's wonderful that Target is jumping on the Eco-bandwagon.

anthropologie's ones are so nice but definitely pricey especially for a doormat!

I have the blue and brown one. Eco-concious it may be, but it only lasted about two months before it started to fall apart.

I got the green/brown one and love it. It's a great size, is holding up well, and as I remember it was only $9.99.

PS- if you really want one from Anthropologie they always have a handful on sale in their stores.

These rock! I am moving soon, and need an awesome doormat. Guess who is going onto Target.com right now?

I got the brown and blue one about 5 months ago and mine has held up very nicely. I had problems finding a doormat that would fit in front of my oddly narrow apartment door. this fits and looks great!

Ummm, not online! I might have to make the trek out to the Target in my area. For such a cool thing, it might really be worth it.

Hilarious. Coco (coir) mats have been around FOREVER and NOW they are "green."

Too funny.

Want. Although I'm still looking for a stylish "Go Away" mat. ;-)

Great find! I will definitely have to stop by my Target on my way home tonight... these looks cool. How big are these? I wonder if I need to put 2 side-by-side...

I find them too large. And my building made everyone get rid of their doormats midsummer. Right after, a new tenant moved in a plopped one down. Now they're the only one with a doormat. So ridiculous.

i've had the blue/brown one since april when i changed apartments, along with a green/tan one from cost plus world market in a similar pattern. both tend to shed a bit, but they don't stain and the bristles have stayed pretty stiff - good for scraping your shoes.

I have the green/brown one, it was a little small for my front door, so I went back and got another. They look great together.

Those are nice mats and very reasonably priced. Problem is, they are so coarse and the fibres so pointy, they hurt my dog's feet to step on it. It is now the mat in the garage.

What kind of dog do you have? Mine doesn't seem to mind it one bit. He likes to sniff it excessively though lol..

I have an elderly long-haired dachshund who seems to have sensitive feet. Right now, we have an ice storm going on and he can barely tolerate the icy conditions before he lets me know that it is time to pick him up and carry him inside. The ice on the grass really hurts his feet, but he wants so badly to be a good boy.
