California Artist Barry Mcgee will be presenting a newly commissioned installation at REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/Cal Arts Theater, in the Walt Disney Concert Hall). The installation is entitled "Barry McGee: Advanced Mature Work" and "draws upon the attitudes and processes of unsanctioned acts of expression." (continued)
The site-specific installation will include a selection of existing works, as well as a new sculptural/environmental construction. We've always enjoyed McGee's use of patterns and color fields, and we're sure this exhibition could provide some inspiration and fresh ideas if you're thinking about entering the upcoming Color Contest? The opening reception is this friday, September 14th, 2007 from 7-10pm. It will be on display until November 25, 2007.
