2. I'd like the Iron Vines and/or the Chandelier in black
3. I should win because my teeny tiny box could use sprucing and I have really old hard plaster walls that are impossible to screw anything into so my walls are very naked. My project plan is to make a headboard and do something with my long blank wall next to that.

1. Hi! My name is Robin.

2. The "classic red" flock pattern would be perfect for my room.

3. I'm an awesome candidate for this! I have a meh lighting fixture in the middle of a droopy plaster ceiling in my (rental) living room. I don't want to replace it, since it would require re-plastering the whole ceiling. Putting some blik decals all around this could be a great way of disguising some of the ceiling's imperfections, turning it from a liability into an attractive feature. 3. The Iron Vines pattern gets me straight through the heart....my hometown in the deep south (Charleston, SC) is redolent with wrought iron gates and railings. I long to create a romantic contemporary homage to my roots by installing the blik decals in my bedroom. I am participating in the Fall Cure, and my bedroom needs the most attention of all the rooms in my home. We have 4 young children, and as mommy and daddy's bedroom has been the crash pad for the whole gang for the last several years, I am ready to reclaim my own territory! I envision creating a sanctuary for my husband and I to retreat to and relax in and LOCK THE DOOR!

3) I just bought a house, painted the rooms, and the walls are in desparate need of some pizzazz!! I was thinking of doing some stenciling, then I remembered Blik. It would save alot of time and effort, and they fit the retro modern style I am trying to achieve.

3. I moved to New Orleans pretty recently and am renting half of a shotgun-double home. Since the entire house is long and not very wide (about 12'), I've got tons of walls that if furniture were to be put against them, I wouldn't be able to walk from room to room. I'm definitely going to paint the walls, but I need something more to really give my bedroom some life. The vines would go great with the whole 'wrought iron' look that is around the city, and plus since I'm living in New Orleans, there's not a ton of stores still around where I can find decorative things I can actually afford.

In the last month, I got engaged and moved in to an old, brownstone apartment with superhard, reinforced walls that will probably survive an earthquake (if those start happening in NY), but make a pushpin or a nail almost impossible to get through. I've had my eye on the decals, but with an upcoming wedding, and saving for a house, I feel guilty somehow spending money on wall decals. But the white walls are driving me mad. The chandelier over my small book case, and the iron vines over the bed would finally bring some life to my apartment.

Hi, I'm Jenny!

I would love Chandelier in black, Fly in gray midnite, and Iron Vines in Cocoa.

Why I should win:
1. I've lurked on your site for ages and have received many great ideas--let me show them off!

2. I've got great plans for these: Chandelier=whimsical drama in our already-funky bathroom; Fly=movement and color to a rental-white hallway; Iron Vines=jazz up transom windows and carry through to outside entrance.

3. Did I mention I'm in a rental? Help me and my husband blik it up in a cool, non-permanent way! We would be forever grateful.

Fly in Snow.
Our family is moving into a fantastic modern apartment with floor to ceiling windows along 2 walls. My plan is to paint the walls sky blue to blend the inside with the outside. I am really into the juxtapostion of nature and modern elements like steel and synthetic. This is the plan for the living room - We have walnut hardwood floors(earthy), the Angela Adams Spike Citron Shag rug(mod, natural, kind of like grass), a fantastic antique Asian sideboard for a TV stand (wood) a great pop of an orange sectional (the sun!) and our gorgeous sky blue walls with a flock of white birds seemingly flying out the window.

Hello, I'm Kendra.

I would love a set of Fly in Sky.

Why? I've been living in my first home for 2 years, and only recently decided on the perfect color (BM Pelican Grey) to paint my bedroom. Now, a small renovation project (including new bedroom furniture and linens, hopefully!) coming up in the Spring means I'm postponing my plans to paint yet again. In the meantime, Blik graphics will provide some much-needed color.

3. When I fell in love with Tim, it was largely because we share this ridiculous, punny sense of humor. When we fell in love with our apartment, it was largely because we were able to laugh at the previous tenant's slightly crazy design ideas (high gloss Wedgewood green walls in every room? Wooo!). The laughter stops here, though. Our front hallway is so depressing that we don't even use the front door. Seriously. I don't even know which key OPENS the front door. The hallway features gorgeous dark wood trim and a view into our minty grey dining room. We want to use this entryway to marry Tim's modern, clean aesthetic with my frilly, vintage taste, as well as to showcase our eclectic collection of antique mirrors. (It's a hall of mirrors! Get it? Get it?) The Blik decals would serve as a backdrop to the mirrors, peeking out and complementing the woodwork, and we'd carry the motif into the dining room. More importantly, though, the finished product would make us proud to have guests come to our front door!

P.S. Here is a partial view of the hallway from the dining room. It's so depressing that even the bicycle is embarassed to be there.

for my place, i would pick "fly" in snow and "chandelier" in black (i know i could pick three, but i wouldn't want to be greedy. if i just HAD to have another blik, "bamboo" in tan would also look pretty great in my pad).

i live in a studio, and i think that the motion of "fly" would really look fantastic on my sea blueish wall which bridges my living room area and my bedroom area. as for "chandelier", i have my bed against my bedroom-area wall longways, and a blik chandelier would center and anchor it in a very chic fashion. a little "bamboo" would also work well with my beachy theme, and would help to give some life to an ugly mirror that i am suck with in my rental.

viva la blik!

My name is Rose. If it were possible, I would like to win three sets of Chandelier. I have always wanted a chandelier in my bedroom, and this is a far more affordable and sensible option than the real thing. My ceilings are short, and if I got a real chandelier, my hair would always get caught in it. Having three chandeliers would let me work out some junior high school angst I developed when I became jealous of this girl Marilee, who had a REAL chandelier in her bedroom. My parents thought this was a bad idea, like the time I wanted a pony.

Additionally, this house I'm inhabiting was built in 2005, so it's a little short on character. Character, it turns out, is expensive. So some free character would be awesome.

If having three sets of Chandelier is not possible, I'd choose Bamboo and Fly to make my bathroom into a relaxing bamboo forest paradise. I think it would actually inspire me to buy a new shower curtain (shower curtains are far cheaper than character). It's high time I replaced the gold and silver star shower curtain I bought in 2002 during a "celestial" decorating phase.

1. Dana & Scott

2. "Fly" in gray midnight, "Flock" in midnight. (2 sets of one of these.)

3. The living room in our condo is open to the upstairs loft office. The walls are very tall, and we do not have any art large enough to fill such an expansive space. It would be nice to have something attractive on these walls to unify the house together, instead of just looking up at nothing. I have lusted after the blik "Fly" decals for over a year for this space. The birds would span partial areas of 2 walls, so 2 sets would probably be ideal.

The other set I lust for is "Flock." I can think of several places in our condo that this would be perfect for, but I think first we would put them in the office. The office has one wall of closet doors that turns into a hallway full of more closet doors! Ugh. Closet doors are a pain to decorate, and these would be easy to do and look fantastic! Possibly slap some mirrored plexiglass onto the doors as well, as something sore to look at becomes a feature instead! Ideally I would buy 2 sets of this as well, I could also carry these into our Asian-inspired bedroom (parts of the Flock look like little temples to me) or down the stairs.

3. One month ago, my annual income went to $0.00, as I went back to graduate school. To save myself a lengthy commute and a significant chunk of change, I moved into a new apartment closer to school. What the new place has in convenience, it lacks in character. And, because of my nest-egg-eating tuition, I don't have the spare bucks to prowl vintage stores or stoop sales, much less great furniture stores.
I plan on being in this apartment for a long time (ah, graduate school!) and would love to put my own mark on the walls. All I've got right now is my relatively staid furniture. If I don't do something soon, I'm going to die from boredom, and it won't be my textbooks boring me to death!

Hi, my name is Deme
I'd like the FLY (warm oranges, reds and yellows), BAMBOO (browns, burnt sienna) & CHANDLIER.(sky blue or midnight blue).
I have a 513 sq. ft. studio with a westerly view of NYC/NJ skyline. It would reflect the sun sets that I have all year round and the moonlight when full, as well as just liven up the place.
Thanks.

1) Grace
2) 2 black bamboo, 1 fly with color combo (2, 22" midnite; 2, 16" charcoal;# 2, 12" graphite)
3) After a tough three years of of personal hardship, I'm not letting myself look back. My apartment reflects this about me. In my apartment that I am sharing with a friend, I have a high ceiling in my private bedroom (approximately 25 feet high) that leaves a lot of blank space to be altered. Because of the clean slate on life that I've given myself, I want this apartment to reflect who I am.

The bamboo will decorate the huge wall that the futon is against, as well as decorate the small wall that is underneath the curtains of the huge window. This picture shows the general arrangement of the room, with paper lanterns (which are decorated with black bamboo) being lit.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/cat61986/New%20Apartment/NewApartment029.jpg

This following picture is intended to show that the sky...er...the high ceiling is the limit in decorating this room:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/cat61986/New%20Apartment/NewApartment011.jpg

I hope to decorate the birds onto the huge window itself, or perhaps only on the curtains of the huge window, where a huge paper lantern may be bought to somehow hang from the high ceiling, creating a makeshift moon/sun, as if the birds were flying in moonlight/sunlight.

The next picture shows how the paper lanterns look when lit at night.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/cat61986/New%20Apartment/NewApartment028.jpg
If I were to buy a huge paper lantern to signify the moon/sun, it would light up the room more, and hopefully help bring out the birds that I plan to put on those blinds.

A Japanese shoji screen (such as this: http://oriental-decor.com/img/products/s/2407.jpg ) may also be bought in order to give the room a more proper look as if one is walking into a bamboo forest, a place of respect.

Minor furniture arrangements would be done in order to make the "forest" look more pristine and natural.

Thanks for the chance.

1 My name is Joan

2 I would use three packs of fly (one in sky, one in graphite, and one in midnight).

3 I have wanted to do this project for some time, but my husband doubts that it would look fabulous so I never ordered the decals. I would have great satisfaction if I was able to prove him wrong. We just moved into a large loft that has very large windows. We are in dire need of putting something of visual interest on the walls, but it needs to be something that wouldn't take away from the view. Large flocks of birds are constantly flying past our windows (there is a ledge right above us that they sit on), and that's where I got the idea to put up the fly decals. I think that I could use the decals to give a small pop of color and interest while complimenting the view. When our additional furniture comes in a week or so from now, the fly decals would bring the whole thing together.

3. I am currently renting a great apartment in an old building with high ceilings, crown molding, etc despite being a poor graduate student. Luckily our university owns the building, unluckily the apartment has some odd shaped rooms including a small 8x8 "foyer" or entrance room which is connected to all the other rooms of the apt but itself has no windows. I have always wanted to liven some of the odd spaces in the apartment up but unfortunately the walls don't support most artwork or heavy objects such as floating shelves. The blik wall decals would be a great way for me to make a dramatic design statement in my cozy home since hanging up pictures is not an option for me.

1) My name's John
2) I would use fly in the grey midnite combo and 2 bamboo in tan.
3) This would be for my converted attic bedroom remodel. There's a chimney column going up through the middle of the room on which I'd put one set of bamboo. I'd put the other set of bamboo as sort of a "headboard" for the bed, and then the fly would go on the wall with the window. The room is going to be sort of a light forest green with white trim, and eventually a faux-wood laminate floor and so the birds and bamboo will give it a very outdoorsy look.

Because I'm always moving from one apartment to the next, and am WILDLY irreverant (heh) when it comes to painting/decorating apartments. I'm working on an apple-green wall in my kitchen (which the birds would work with), and I don't have a headboard in my chocolate brown bedroom (a well-placed 2D chandelier would work nicely!).

oops - Jo Ann here, accidently pushed the enter button.
3~Hubby and I purchased a condo - new construction - mainly craftsman style, but our plans are to combine sleek modern furnishings with inherited antiques creating an eclectic maximalism style. (i.e. our new pendant shade chandelier looks lovely with the 1940's Heywood Wakefield cabinet, etc.) I've been eyeing the Blik products for some time and would love to use them to achieve a look that would be uniquely ours.

Hi, my name is Daniel but everybody calls me Chino.
I'd love to have two "mod" and one "birds", all in snow.
The reason is because my bedroom desperately needs to feel better. The rest of the house has been very lovingly taken care of (the kitchen was even a contestant on "Fall Colors Therapy" http://la.apartmenttherapy.com/la/fall-colors-2006-southwest/23-chino-and-stephanies-uruguain-sunrise-013661). And the living room is the heart of our apartment.
However, the poor bedroom was left behind and over a year since we moved in, it hasn't received the same tratment as the other rooms, we've only recently managed to paint one of it's walls http://web.mac.com/danielcarranza/iWeb/Fotos%20Stephy/El%20cuarto_files/DSC00030.jpg. Wouldn't some blik decals look grat on that plain blue wall?
Let's put it this way: This is an opportunity to turn the big loser of our home in the hippest room around, in a very hollywood-like happy ending.
Thanks, bye.

1. abby
2. either flock in "snow" OR fly in "sky"
3. my hallway, part of the triumvirate of rooms which will get the treatment during the fall cure, is sad. it longs to take its place among the other rooms, arresting visitors with a unique loveliness, perhaps a certain irony, maybe even a loud "look at me, world!" blue has been hovering in my mind as a wonderful transition between the grey bedroom, the yellow living room and the lavender bathroom. one thought would be to paint the hallway a glossy teal with flock in "snow" giving a wink to the mock hollywood regency style of my apartment; a second thought finds the hallway a shimmery white with blue birds, of happiness perhaps?, crescendoing through. glimpsed through the doorway, me and my visitors cannot help but look. what a wonderful hallway! how strong! how brave! how so unlike other hallways!

see how sad my hallway is?

1) Hi, I'm Jeff

2) I would love 3 sets of Flock, one in silver, and two in cocoa/graphite combo

3) Why I should win is pretty simple and can be summed up in just 3 words: 25ft white walls.

I moved into a loft apartment in Palms a couple of months ago that has 25 foot ceilings in the living room, including a 25ft tall fireplace and wrap around staircase. The building was built in the late 80's/early 90's and while there is a lot of architectural interest going on, it's just waaaay to white. I am a graphic designer so naturally I need to do something colorful and or graphic on the walls, and the height issue has proven to be a pain in the ass since there is no way I can get all the way to the top without some kind of professional assistance.

See photos...

Blik seems like the perfect solution in that a) it's colorful, graphic, and interesting; b) it's original - even if someone else has the same shapes I can arrange them in a completely original way; and c) they are removable, so I can always switch it up if I don't get it right the first time and I can take them with me if I move. Plus I will not risk my safety by trying to scale the walls to paint, or my financial security by hiring someone to paint for me. Blik will literally be saving my life.

3. You should pick me because....I have an artistic and creative soul. I absolutely adore the fact that the decals are removable. I bought an amazing stencil years ago and was/still am super excited to use it.....but terrified by the permanence. I'm also not very good with paint. But BLIK is perfect for my flakiness. Plus they would look AMAZING in my living room which has a black and white pseudo Victorian Gothic thing going on. Also...I'd really like it. So, please pick me.

The iron vines design in white would make me so, so happy.

I rent a little apartment in Long Beach with my fiance, Solomon. We have a kind of cove (I think it used to be a closet, then an office) in our living room with a white, 3-tier book shelf on display inside. There is a lot of space above the items on each shelf, and we think the Blik decals would create a great backdrop for them that says "look at me," as well as bring some contrast to the sea green walls in the rest of the room. Please consider us because we are both grad students getting ready for our wedding in May. Thanks for the opportunity!

3. I've picked up and moved cross country by myself into my first one bedroom apartment in LA a few weeks ago. After 4 years in off-campus dorm room and 2 years working way too hard to decorate my shoebox shared room in manhattan, I'm finally beginning to recycle out my ikea/staples/college listserv particleboard for real, cherished pieces. Was thinking modern when I started planning, but went to paris and fell in love with parisian elegance so I'm trying to combine both currently - I think it is working (read-midcentury modern wood tables with sweet white marble tops, craiglist style) - and the blik decals I've chosen will complement perfectly the parisian/modern style I'm looking to achieve (which everyone thinks is impossible).

3) I desperately need to change my living room. Since last December when I read the book Apartment Therapy, I understand that I need to alter the paint color, which was selected and applied by my ex (who moved out 3 years ago) and matching artwork. I am ready to welcome new energy and love into my life (finally!) and need to do the same with my environment. With the help of the book, I have already decluttered and moved things around and added a few new pieces, but here comes the larger commitment: dealing with the bolted down wall units, painting away "traces" of my old life, and making a serious decision to spend money on furniture. I am a modernist through and through and want to go with bright happy colors and geometric patterns. I have been daydreaming about a new color scheme (orange and yellow) and new couch. (Leather or microsuede? The eternal question: what's better for cats?) Many thanks for the encouragement!

3) Why I should win: My room is a horrible mess of dozens of half finished projects mashed all together. 1) Hi, my name is Sarah
2) I would like Chandelier in white, Iron Vines in tomato, and Fly in the gray midnite combo
3) My boyfriend and I moved into an *amazing* apartment last weekend. The entire place has been renovated--there are gorgeous hardwood floors in the living room, granite countertops in the kitchen, and beautiful wide moldings around every door. It's a real charmer. So why should you give be the prize, since my apartment is already so cool? Well, the one thing the owners skimped on was the walls. They are lumpy and bumpy, with tons of irregularities and, of course, they're a strange shade of taupe that we're not allowed to paint over. We've already begun accumulating artwork, but some blik decals would be just the thing to turn our amazing blank canvas of an apartment into a hip, modern, space that we can live in for years to come.

Here's what I'm thinking:
A white chandelier decal in the bathroom, on the blank wall next to the toilet. I just think it would really "pop" against the taupe wall. You can see the space here.

Our bedroom colors are orange and red. The iron vines decals would totally complement the design on this bedspread.

Finally, our living room colors are gray and yellow, so a flock of gray birds would look awesome soaring above our new charcoal-gray couch.

You can see more pics of our very in-progress apartment in my
flickr set. Thanks for looking!

Inspired by one of the runner's up for the smallest apt. contest, I painted one of the walls in a deep sea blue. To offset the rich color, the adjacent wall would look fabulous with multiple iron vines. I've been trying earnestly to finish my kid's room, and the Blik wall graphics would do just the trick. 2. I'd like one set of Fly in the gray midnite combo, one of the Bamboo in tan, and one of the chandelier in black

3. I'm the first Ryan to enter the contest. This may not seem like that big of a deal, but if you look at graph a) (http://www.thenamemachine.com/baby-names-boys/Ryan.html) you'll see that leading up to the 1980s the name Ryan grew at a near geometric rate. This means that those entering this contest would have to be at least 18 years old, thus born at the latest in 1989. Finally for the sake of argument, we'll throw out the equally meteoric rise in naming a girl Ryan, shown in graph b) (http://www.thenamemachine.com/baby-names-girls/Ryan.html) and you can see that I've defied the odds simply by typing my name.

Now that the smartass portion of the show is over, I'd love to get some of the Blik graphics for my bedroom, garage and living projects I have in mind (going to use the chandelier to class up this joint), but there are some people here with some truly touching and relevant reasons why they should win the prize, and I can't help but think they may deserve it more. :) Hopefully this entry at least made you crack a smile.

1. Hi, I'm Penelope. My friends call me Penny. But don't be fooled! Just because I'm named after money, doesn't mean I have any... I do have a lot of student loan debt, though. (Please don't call my Brokey.. don't have the same ring to it as my real
name.

2. I'd love the fly in sky blue and charcoal and the iron gate in tomato to make a 2 sided backwards L shaped cage and the birds flying out of it towards my window.

3. I need these decals, because I need to come home and be happy to be home. I just started medical school, and spend all day at school only to come home to an apartment with nothing on the walls. Prior to med school, I was a fiction writer (still am) with time to be creative but now school has taken over my life! I've been an apartment therapy devotee for years and I credit this web page with helping me have the design sense to put together my apartment on a student loan budget. But my walls are bare, white and the landlord won't let me paint. I feel like I'm coming home to a small white prison where I"m put in solitary and forced to study 6 hours a day. I'm desperate for color and joy. These decals wouldn't just be an apartment makeover... they'd help make me over into a happier student who has a home that's not just a place to sleep but a haven. I'd put the fly in sky blue on my white walls, because birds remind me of creativity and I'd have them soaring out of a cage made of tomato iron vines. Even better, I only have one wall on which to put anything (strangely built apartment) and it's situated so all the birds would be breaking out of the beautiful red cage right towards my patio window. Instant color and art! Winning this contest is the only way I can afford to make my apartment more than a white box, but a vibrant, fun home. I'd be so grateful for your help! Free medical check-ups for all the staff when I graduate! Or... maybe I could write you a short story about a designer for you to serialize on the web page? :) Thanks for a great site.

We gave most of our stuff to our daughter to start her out, which means we left little for our own condo!! I have huge ideas for the space, but little means to act upon most of it... I have used blik years ago in our old place back in NY, and keep pulling up the site now because we want to buy some, but just cannot afford yet. (closing costs were big, plus moving cost... and then of course a little paint (did not want white walls anymore!)
We would love to be able to add some pizzaz to the new space, and with our dk grey rugs, and the grey flooring and counters in grey tones, either the mod in grey and white, or fly in graphite will rock! We already have a large red accent wall to offset all the grey, so this would be perfect!

I would like the classic red flock, tan bamboo, and burgundy chandelier
As of right now, I've got 3 sides of my dorm room decked out in paintings. Unfortunately, it leaves me with one hideously empty wall. The three sets I've chosen will allow me to express a stunning juxtaposition of the classically Western sophistication invoked by the chandelier while fields of Eastern bamboo prance underneath that are married by the flock flittering around in between. Some would say that this could become a metaphor for my life--a visual biography, if you will. Not to mention it'd probably lead deep-pocketed college students to blik once they see what I've done.

My girlfriend, Erica, and I are in process of buying our first home and we have no budget for decorating. How tragic is that? We're so excited about being homeowners, but knowing we'll have to wait at least a year to decorate is a bummer.

Erica and I love these decals and have been forwarding blik links to each other with, "when we get money, let's get these" messages. I would love to surprise her with our own flock of birds.

Seeing those birds on our new walls will bring us such happiness and isn't that what this contest is all about? Plus, I believe I'm the only entrant who offered her full name. That's gotta count for something.

3) I'm redecorating an old stereo cabinet my mother passed down to me. I’ve just spent weeks removing the old layers of paint and have begun painting it grey. There’s an awkward little space when you first open the doors where I’m going to hand paint “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” The Green Fly decals would go on the outside to finish off the song/flying/freedom theme.

The Grey set of fly decals are for my mother who would LOVE them in her beading room. They’d remind her of her children who she says have all flown away.

The bamboo would be for my good friend Marlo! She’s obsessed with Pandas and says they’re ‘her people’. I don’t think any one could appreciate surrounding themselves with bamboo as much as Marlo. It’d also go exceedingly well in her tiny pristine NYC apartment.

3) I believe that a positive environment creates a positive reaction. I am a junior high English teacher. Getting 7th and 8th graders to pay attention and learn about symbolism, metaphors and similes is definitely a challenge. It doesn’t help when the current state of my classroom is very dreary – our school building is under re-construction and at this point, will take several years to finish. While the building is under construction, each classroom had to be moved to temporary modular pods with dull gray walls and blue-gray carpet. Needless to say, Blik can definitely help with brightening up my classroom and providing a positive environment suitable for learning.

I have found that the typical classroom is filled with unnecessary clutter – on walls, shelves, cabinets, everywhere. Why not create a clean, organized, yet exciting, modern environment appropriate for the modern student?

With this in mind, I have worked over the summer to reconfigure my classroom as best I can. School has started, but my classroom is not done yet. So far the walls have been painted white. I have bought simple white bookshelves and cabinets for better organization - for both the students and me. I have hung up simple black framed-posters of authors and arranged them in a pleasing cluster. I also plan to paint/stencil a quote on the wall by Emerson: “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” By adding Blik decals, my space will no longer be that typical boring classroom. Blik Fly decals will especially compliment the quote, which is the overall message I am trying to convey to my students – not just in their educational lives, but in all areas of their lives.

Hi my name is Sara

I would love Iron Vines in Snow if I am so lucky as to be picked.

I purchased my very first home back in March and have started the very long process of completely overhauling the whole thing at a reasonable cost. The master bedroom is the only room close to completion. I have redone the hardwood floors (by hand..ugh), painted over the walls, bought the perfect light fixture.......but the space above the bed is lacking. I think with some new bed linens (that I have picked out to be purchased shortly) and the fabulous Blik decals, I would have a bedroom I could FINALLY retreat to (YEAH!). I have been eyeing these beautiful decals for weeks, I would love the opportunity to add them to my new home.

TLC. my decal selection, I would like Fly in white, for a wall that I'm going to paint with chalkboard paint. I think the contrast of white birds on a dark surface would really "pop". I would also like the chandelier in black. I plan on putting the decal on foamcore and cutting out and hanging over the bar from the ceiling. My outlet supply in that room is sparse and I think this would be a fun way of pretending there is a light source there. The iron vines in red would be my last choice for the wall behind the bar as I am going with a red theme in that room.
I believe I should win because the my ideas are unique and fun...and I would invite you over for some cocktails in my bar if you chose me!!!
Me bribe???........ NEVER!

I think I would put it in my living room. I recently moved into an apartment a few months ago, and it still looks like I moved in a week ago. Its pretty empty and I have no idea what to do with the living area. I think I would put 2 sets of Fly (midnight/graphite) over my fireplace. I have a large wall area above where most people put a large painting, but I think it could look cool to have the birds cover that area. I think I would put 1 set of Bamboo (tan) behind my TV set, framing the TV. It could look fun and amusing if done correctly.

Why I should win? That's a tough question. I'm a young professional in a very boring and empty apartment that needs some flare to brighten up the place. Its dull and drab and I think these Blik wall decorations could do the trick. It could also give me some motivation to finally get out and find additional stuff to decorate my apartment.

Help me decorate my apartment! :)

hey greg,

it's Ben (benlbr). sorry so last minute. i can post some pics of the room by tonight (promise!).

1. The designer's name is Karis. The laborer will likely be me (Ben).
2. The lady would like the following decals in the following colors: Iron Vines/Mint, Flocks/Silver, Chandelier/Black.
3. Karis is a professional designer from the NYC area who is an avid reader of Apartment Therapy (although I think she reads the NY version), and would love to be involved in this contest if chosen (among all the fierce competition we see here already!). Our little love nest is tiny, so some decorations would be nice compliment on our "moss green" walls (according to wikipedia, that's the color) and natural colored hardwood floors. You should pick us because I'm confident you guys will not be disappointed! :)

1) My name is Cindy

2) Fly (gray midnight), Chandelier (black), and Iron vines (cocoa)

3) I live in a house with 5 housemates (down from 8!), and with so many people around, I have been trying to decorate my bedroom to be a pleasant retreat area that I can relax in. I have been thinking about putting a chandelier in my room, but am a little worried about something like that hanging over my bed. The chandelier blik would be a great solution!

Also, one of the reasons why the number of my housemates has decreased is that we are in the process of setting up a guest room that we will use to welcome people coming to the area for medical treatment, either for themselves or for family members. We will be participating in a program affiliated with the local hospitals. The visitors will likely be under a great deal of stress, and since they will be staying a house with strangers (us), we want to make it as inviting and pleasant as possible for them. I would love to decorate the walls with the fly and iron vines bliks.

1. My name is Gen

2. Fly in snow, Mod in cotton candy and snow

3. My 2-year-old daughter keeps her toys in a shelving unit handmade by her Great Grandfather. It is a family heirloom that needs some updating. I want to paint it midnight blue and spruce it up with some blik art. Mod would go on the inside against the back of the unit so you would see them when the doors are open. The birds would fly across the sides and front. It would be a perfect accent to her "garden" themed room.

Here's a picture of the shelving unit in her room:

1. I'm Catherine

2. I would like 3 sets of Fly, in black!

3. I would love a few of these throughout my house, primarily in the kitchen, on my unpaintable rented white cabinets. Then a few here and there to bring my apartment together. I've loved these Blik designs for a long time, and I think I'm finally ready to commit :)
