11_06thomaspaul2.jpgWe have to do a lot of research at the office for trends and bargins. One of the sites we visit regularly is bluefly.com. Tons of designer wares for sometimes really good deals [some just decent deals if we can be so snobby] We are having a yellow and orange fixation recently and found

these chic pillows that would brighten up the gray couch. At $37 dollars a piece [marked down from $62] we think that it qualifies as a really good deal. Many other colors are available and some smaller sizes are also available at $24 each.

really good deal ? for whom ?

I can buy beautiful fabrics (silk) of course from NY garment district and make 3 of them.

Are we forgetting the vision of AT here ????? Attention

Hey, let me tell you all- ebay has these same Thomas Paul pillows...sometimes for much less! You just have to catch a good auction but I have purchased some in the past...good luck bidding :)

Why do you assume the "vision" of AT is totally bargain basement DIY? I've never assumed a "price point" for AT...

And not all of us sew. Not all of us have access to a garment district. Some of us value/factor in our own time when talking about DIY projects (time to shop, time to sew...)

Sorry, but $37 for these IS a good deal to me.

Hey, my comment disappeared!

I was taking issue with Tapioca's assumption that AT = bargain basement DIY. I've always interpreted AT as speaking to whatever you can afford or however much you want to make a priority (NOT that more money to spend always yields the best solution!!)

Plus, not all of us sew. And not everybody has access to a garment district.

I think these are a good value.

okay, THAT was weird.

These are gorgeous! And as the NY garment district is, oh, about 3,000 miles away and there is no decent fabric store withing 500 miles, I like that these have been marked down! And I would buy one if I could run out and get one.

But, alas, I can't. But I do love knowing what's out there and what's up and coming.--if only to keep up to date and my eyes peeled at the places I can go.

Thanks for everything!

o lordy lou
the Vision is not exclusively DIY

and you might not be finding cute thomaspaul designed fabrics in the design district, let alone the mall that some people have to shop in

plus sewing silky stuff is annoying
(yeah girl, I love my thomaspaul pillows from his sample sale.)

There's a guy on eBay who sells Thomas Paul pillows for $18 a pop. I've purchased several from him and they're perfect quality. I dunno, maybe they fell off the back of a truck or something ...

Here's the link: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbill6961QQhtZ-1.

By them time you go to the store, buy fabric, buy inserts and zippers, cut the fabric and sew it all together, $37 really is a good deal. Plus these pillows carry a brand name and you can resell them on eBay and get your money back as long as they are in good condition. You cant do that with homemade pillows.
