apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Maximilian's Schell

front0.jpgWe have been driving by this spectacular outdoor installation by Benjamin Ball and Gaston Nogues, called Maximilian’s Schell, since its completion in July. This temporary masterpiece feels like it could be the Walt Disney Opera Hall’s funky, hipster cousin. Constructed with tinted Mylar, the vortex-shaped installation "warps the flow of space with a featherweight rendition of a celestial black hole, the deadliest force in the Universe." To stand inside of this apartment-sized stunner is quite a treat.

Maximilian’s Schell is up until November so take a drive along Silverlake Blvd and check it out!

AH. What's the cross-street? Silvelake, north or south of Sunset? I'd love to see this in person. Thanks!
