Weego Home was "created as an antidote to the uber-chic minimalist furniture stores that have left us feeling hungry for some color, pattern and a little fun."

In truth, much of the furniture on the website seems to fit as much into the "uber-chic" world as it does the colorful, fun world,
but there are some really nice looking pieces here. We really liked the sconce and pendant lamps (below the fold). And this credenza does have some wonderfully colorful doors.
Citysearch says, "Every time I go into this store, I see things I like."

Weego Home sells lots of Richter furniture (http://www.richterinc.com/home.php ), which recently was acquired out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy (http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=109&STORY=/www/story/11-17-2005/0004218640&EDATE= ). Unfortunately, I experienced firsthand how poorly run Richter Furniture was (on an item not bought through Weego Home).
One of the owners of Weego Home is Asher Richter, whom I would guess is related to Braden Richter, the person who started Richter Furniture.
k- you are totally right.
I found out a couple weeks ago from another sofa company who sells Richters line.
Becareful if you have purchased furniture from that manufacturer. The Richter line is also sold at Room and Company, Z Gallerie as well as some items from Pottery Barn.
There are probably other stores that carry his furniture, so ask before you buy.
Hopefully these stores have dropped his line anyway.
k,
What was your experience? I've been considering a purchase of a Richter sofa.
I love, love, love Weego Home. I recently made a few large purchases from this store and did not see the Richter brand anywhere on their floor. They do cary some Mitchel Gold and Pepperberry; however, thier wood pieces are all home-grown designs invented by the Weego design team. The florence credenza is a personal favorite of mine and the accessories are the perfect compliment to any style home. I refer everyone to this store for thier original style, impecable service, and unbeatable quality. The weego daily cocktail hour from 5-7 doesn't hurt either :)
Weego Home has the best stuff in town, bar none! I have looked on LaBrea, the design center, Beverly, etc and no store was as refreshing as Weego Home.
Dear K, V and Edie:
just to clarify, weego home has not carried richter furniture for several months nor do we have any affiliation with Richter Furniture Manufacturing.
Help, consumers. I am considering bringing the line into my med-high end showroom. I love the product, they have been well financed. The fabrics are great. Is all forgiven??? I am to the trade in SF. Thanks K
A year ago I bought a Richter sofa I am in love with its desing and fabrics both are from excelent quality and durability. I totally recommend anybody to buy it if they really like it

Stay away from Richter! the product has serious quality issues - one piece will be great, then the next three will be garbage. I tried to do business with them in San Francisco and they do not stand behind the product. The last order I had with them, a 12 week order became a 22 week order and wasn't acceptable when it finally arrived. After my experience, I asked around, and Braden Richter is known to be a sleazy, crooked guy.
Richter should be actively boycotted. As should his dealers.
Braden, the founder and president of Richter, has cheated more designers and retail store owners out of deposit money than any other furniture company I know of. Richter used to use illegal labor in their LA facility because illegals couldn't complain about sub-minimum wages, no-overtime, etc.; now that INS has cracked down on him, Richter is moving his factory to Mexico, presumably so he continue to abuse workers without consequence.
Guys like Braden Richter make the world a meaner, shabbier, crueler place for all of us ... we should help close him down.
Boycott Richter. Boycott any store that does business with Richter.
this store looks like they copy every other store in LA..the people that work in the store are full of shit..copycats
After reading all of the banter above, I feel that this site has not been a fair representation of the store.
Weego Home has a very refreshing product line. I purchased the Florence cradenza and I love thier jewelry and pillow selection. I have my eye on the Emma Gardner spray rug too. Their staff was extreamly knowledgeable and have always been helpful and patient with my 1,000 questions.
I would recomend this store to anyone who values inovative design. Weego Home has a unique style, great merchandise, a beach location, and a laid back attitude. What more could you ask?
Hats off to you, Weego Home!
I bought a sofa by Richter a few years ago and it is great! Asher Richter was lovely and helped me to customize the sofa. It is in great condition and I don't see that changing anytime soon. In fact, I came to this blog beacuse I was googling Richter to find them again because i want them to build me a bed.
I used to work at Richter. They were by far the most innovative company in the furniture industry. The demand for their designs was more then they could produce. Braden helped Asher get started. Shame on him......
I was reading the thread with interest as I am considering a Richter sofa from Pottery Barn, ine reason because it was "built in the US" which is obviously not true. I can see the ups and downs about great demand than compacity and I do think they have an upscale look. I am wondering how to findout if the construction is any good - a look under the hood so to speak. Any comments.
Is Mitchell Gold considered a better supplier all the way around; built here, quality etc.?
I just popped into Weego Home for the first time in a while and the store looks completely different. New designs, new colors, and vendors I have not seen in LA. I love when a local shop can surprise me with innovative design.
