Molly: you're doing such a kickass job. We can't make everyone happy, and some people are just going to prefer the old to the new. Hopefully with time, we can win back some of the old schoolers, alongside keep bringing in new people into the fold. We're all still working out the kinks :)
BTW: Etsy scavenger rules.
Thanks for the encouragement, Gregory! I think you, too, are doing a splendid job. Hope you liked the soap popsicle that I spotted. I thought your combs-in-bath-salts idea was inspired. If you (or anyone else) has a favorite Etsy seller to call my attention to, feel free to e-mail me at mollysymmonds(at)mail(dot)com.
I really would like to know what you feel is missing, Ricardo. If something got lost in the personnel shuffle, maybe we can pull some rabbits out of our collective hat. It's funny; I felt as though I was part of the "old school". I've been posting to ATLA for about 8 months!
Thanks again.

:( I miss the "old" l.a. apartment therapy...
I'm sorry you feel that way, Ricardo.
I'm also sorry you don't seem to like this new feature; I've written the eBay Scavenger since December. I recently added an Etsy Scavenger, and people have responded well to it. I like shining the spotlight on the handmade goods at Etsy. I try to feature goods for the home that are affordable and would be of interest to readers.
I know that everyone at ATLA welcomes your suggestions.
Thanks.

I love the etsy scavenger--keep up the good work, peoples!
Two things. First off, I think the Etsy Scavenger feature is a great resource and a nice complement to both the eBay Scavenger and the AT:LA site as whole. The products are interesting and unique; and the prices acceesible. I think Molly does an amazing job. And since I've never frequented the Etsy site before, think her finds are well-selected gems.
Secondly, I find the "new" AT:LA as a whole much more interesting and a accessible to the Los Angeles reader than the "old" AT:LA. Why? The multitude of voices sharing editing duties (as oppposed to a single editorial voice). The greater relevance to and focus towards the L.A. reader in the context of AT's original mission statement (ie a greater representation of local resources and events; and less superfluous coverage on prototype "concept" products that will never reach production, or Hot or Not's featuring things like thrift store clown paintings). An editorial staff that actively encourages dialogue and (hopefully constructive) discourse with and amongst the readership.
So, Ricardo, what exactly do you miss about the the old AT:LA? What can the editorial staff do to better address your interests? And what can you do to improve the content or editorial slant of the site?
Molly, I love the soapcicles! Thanks for pointing them out!
