Etsy Scavenger

Many of you have inquired about the recent absence of scavenger posts, a favourite weekly feature. Molly, who is normally responsible for perusing and posting eBay, craigslist and etsy finds is in the process of moving to Chicago, and will be absent for a few weeks as she settles into her new home town.

In the meantime, I'll humbly try to fill her shoes today with some Etsy finds:

ZIPPEREDFlapper.jpg
ZIPPERED Flapper - Green Forest ($18.75) by threegreenapples.
drinkme_set.jpg
Cocktails with Alice Bar Set ($15.00) by byreed.
xray_lamps_etsy.jpg
DNA and proteomic Xray Film Hanging Lamp ($39.00) by focussnap. X-rated hanging lamps...x-rays that is! The shades were created using actual x-ray film of DNA. Diagnosis: cool.
green_sconce_etsy.jpg
Refurbished Vintage Wall Sconce With Crystals ( $17.50) sold by OurCottageArt.
thrush_towel_etsy.jpg
Woodthrush Kitchen Towel ($9.00) by artgoodies. Check out her other various avian print kitchen towels.
flagstand_lamp_etsy.jpg
Found object flag stand table lamp ($125.00) by drinkabutter. A turn of the century collapsible flag pole stand transformed into a table lamp!

It seems like Ebay Scavenger has been completely eliminated from the NY site. I haven't seen it in many months. I miss it and asked Maxwell but never got a response.

Anne,

I started writing eBay Scavenger NY in December, but Maxwell asked that I move it to L.A., and no one has taken up the reins. The next time Maxwell and I talk about eBay Scavenger, I'll mention that you'd like to see it revived in NYC.

I will be contributing intermittently, but I have a lot of planning to do as I prepare to move at the end of the month.

Cheers,
Molly S.

are those xray lamps really that cool? i am a scientist and work with that sort of data every day, and i have to say, i just don't see the aesthetic appeal of it in decor. am i seeing the film with overly utilitarian eyes?
