Scavenger: Lucite Shelf, Vintage Stereo Console, Wedge Sofa Bed, Danish Dining Chair and a Modern Moving Sale
Los Angeles Craigslist

Is it just us or does it seem like there are WAY too many dealers/shops posting on Craigslist now? We try to stick mostly to 90% owner-sellers, steering away from professional dealers except for notable exceptions. But half the time "scavenging" is now spent weeding through countless amount of discounters who have swamped the CL listings with countless knockoffs. There are still some great finds to be had, and fortunate for you, we've done some of the footwork and found some bargains and notable finds. This Tuesday, storage solutions seems to be a favourite offering...

I really dislike it when stores post their items on Craigslist--it makes it harder for individuals to get attention. I love that table though--similar to the apothecary style!

First, that cabinet is to die for. Second, maybe I was imagining it, but didn't CL once have an option that allowed you to search "by owner" only? Seems I saw that option once, but I've never been able to find it again... not that it would do any good these days, since many retailers are now listing themselves as "owners." Feh.

In the for sale section on Craiglist, you can select Furniture - by dealer or Furniture - by owner. It makes finding good deals much easier. :)

Yeah, I hate the dealers, too. It's basically the same issue that caused me to stop using eBay so frequently.

sparkle: great tip and one I should have mentioned for others!

I do like to browse with dealers personally because a few locals specialty ones offer some great finds at a reasonable price. I'm more miffed about the discounter warehouse, fall-apart-quality listings that have recently become more and more evident in the listings each week.
