Original Neutra Designed Camel Table - $12,000
Los Angeles Scavenger

It's not too often we see something quite of this historical significance or price on Craigslist. This original Richard Neutra designed Camel Table for Moore House, Ojai in 1952 converts from coffee table height to dining table height (the moniker refers to the inbetween kneeling dromedary pose). Found it amusing seller is willing to trade for "interesting car". Other much more affordable offerings below.

the legs on the Camel Table remind me of the legs on the IKEA Poang chairs. I wonder if a hack is possible?

@Grumpy Girl: Actually the Vika Obley legs are very close too: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S39843617

This reminds me of a table that was featured on the site, but the name escapes me, but it came with crate seats that fit in the gap when it was in coffee table mode, but came out for sitting in dinning mode. It used a similar camel mechanism.

Is there a cheap version of this table? I need something convertible like that and it's rare to see one that actually looks good.

Found it! This table: http://www.flipfurniture.com/the_flip_table.html

Greyhound, you might consider contacting these folks. Not sure what the price of the table is...it might not be that much cheaper than the vintage piece.
