City Slicker Side Table from CB2

042908_cityslick.jpgAs Abby mentioned yesterday, our mantra for small spaces is "double duty, double duty, double duty!". That's why we love any kind of ottoman that can double as a table, or chair that can turn into kitchen sink, etc. So when that double duty item is stylish too, we swoon:

The City Slicker Side Table from CB2 is sleek and modern (we love it in glossy white but it also comes in a great red that they call paprika) and can be used as a side table, clustered together to make a larger coffee table, moved around for extra seating or moved to the bedroom as a nightstand turned stool. Not that we've ever had a bathroom big enough, but we do have dreams of using it to place fresh towels or a vase of flowers on for a spa-like feel in our favorite room.

I've really been liking cb2's line of products overall lately.

I agree with krazeenyc...I would probably buy one if it could be used for storage.

If it came with a hidden drawer on 1 side that would be awesome.

How is it double duty? It's an MDF box. A hinged lid or shelves would make it double duty. You need to buy multiples to make it into anything else--and an MDF cube that's $179 isn't exactly my idea of a bargain.

You could buy an MDF box at any big box store, get it painted with auto paints (or DIY) for far less money.

I'm-a not swoon for the plain white cube. It's a table you can use as a table, or buy more for a bigger table. If you run out of chairs, we let you sit on our table. If you don't have a table in the bedroom, you can even use it as a table in the bedroom. Even if it had storage, I don't like it. It would have to do a bunch of cool things before I'd consider it.
