Arbus, born in 1903, was inspired by the classicism of French Empire. His love of finely grained veneers, parchment, and lacquer seem to fit right in with todays strong nod to French Deco and Hollywood Regency.
Arbus was "a decorator, an architect and sculptor, as well as a modernist in furniture design, Arbus exerted a profound influence on architecture and interior design in France".
