If they attached cushions around each individual piece of wood then it would still have the holes in between each piece but would be much more comfortable to sit or lie on.

This kind of innovation that combines thoughtful design with aesthetic beauty really excites me. If only it was more comfortable I would buy it (I'm assuming that it's not super-comfortable).
