Mercury Low Stools

These are advertised as low foot stools, but for someone who has a low coffee table and limited space, these Mercury Low Stools seem perfect for occasional party seating that can be easily stacked or slid under other furniture when not in use. The simple design and ample PVC seating has us convinced that we need a couple ourselves (the sub-$50 price helps also). Now if we can only find a domestic dealer or importer....

I was going to say, they do look quite vintage to me, even if newly made and love the colors, so very 60's.

my wife just bought two of these in Tokyo. they are very comfortable and cute to boot.

but does anyone know about their history - where and when they were made, i can't seem to find much beyond this on the internet.
