Archer Set of 2 Bunching Bookcases from Macys

We've been helping a friend look for some bookcases and came across this Archer Set of 2 Bunching Bookcases at Macys. We like the fact that it allows for some items to be stored in drawers, while still having the bottom open...

There's also a slight nod to Scandinavian modernism in the design. We're also liking the fact that the drawers are set up higher, keeping the bottom open, which helps the piece from feeling too heavy. The set is currently on sale ($999 for two) available at Macys.

My boyfriend and I saw these in Macy's and totally fell in love with them. The ones we saw where an even lighter color.

But when we were walking away from them, my foot glanced off one of the bookcase legs, and it peeled away a big strip of the veneer. So...maybe not the best quality.

I've got to say that I have had great luck at Macy's for furniture. While 90% of the furniture is not my style, there are some great pieces...and you generally only need one sofa, one table, etc. My husband and I found the perfect chocolate leather couch and a green arm chair. Every holiday is a sale (Memorial Day is coming up!), and there are great prices. Affordable delivery prices and wonderful follow-up service, in case there are any problems. While we've only had the pieces for about a year, the quality seems good.

I sound like a Macy's commercial, but I was just so happily surprised.
