Driftwood Shelf via DaWanda

We've always loved found and repurposed objects, especially those that Mother Nature has had a hand in creating: driftwood, beach glass, smooth rocks. We've collected them since we were a child, planning to make something but the something always eluded us. DaWanda seller RagsandBones, has made a something we wish we'd thought of...

Found tree roots, created when an area of France was shorn of its trees and flooded to make a lake, are topped with reclaimed plywood to create this shelf. Naturally weatherproof, we'd love it in the bathroom, holding products in simple bottles. Available through DaWanda

This reminded me of the shelf fungus that we cut from a dying tree at the cottage and attached to a wall in the cottage. It was very hard and sturdy and held many of the little treasures that we brought in from the lake or walks in the woods. It looked something like this, but was significantly bigger.
