How about this for a media storage unit? Austrian F. Maurer's baroque media storage solution,Vienna, frames your music collection like it was a work of art (even if your collection includes Fergie and the Pussycat Dolls). How perfect would this be for a classical music collector?

What a great idea!

I'm seeing this idea expanded on to make a housing for collectibles. I'd be easy to make your own (trivial, really) with adjustable glass shelves and puck lights. You can get custom cut moulding from a number of places online to your own dimensions or from any custom framing shop.

Of course it'd look best built in to a wall...but how cool to have something like that built in over a fireplace with cool shiny "stuff" inside lit by puck lights (on an X-10 or Insteon dimmer, of course).

this is, in fact, the hottest thing i've seen on this site in some time.

Circa Furniture (www.circafurniture.com) just came out with a similar Baroque inspired plasma tv frame that looks incredible.

There have been kits to frame bathroom mirrors for years. This is probably an outgrowth of that idea. But seriously - this stuff is so easy to make it's trivial, especially if you get frame moulding wholesale on the web (google for it).

Don't pay high prices or wait for some store to carry it...this is a 2 hour DIY project with hardly any tools.
