Kubo Shelf by Maze International

040408kubo.jpgHere's an idea for those that don't have that much floorspace in the bedroom. This Kubo Shelf by Maze International mounts to the wall and could make a great alternative for a bedside table...

Designed by Malin Lundmark, it's made of lacquered metal and has a built in shelf, perfect for a book or magazine. They also show it as a space saving idea for a kitchen too. 040408kubo2.jpgAvailable via Scandinavian Design Center. (via 2modern blog)

I love it, even at $120. But the shipping costs $56!

Our bedroom is too small to allow for nightstands. We have mounted wire racks on the wall on either side of the bed. In a previous home, they were hung on the back side of the pantry door, so we spent "nothing" on them for their current use. And even when I did buy them, I think they were about $12! Much more affordable.

a floating IKEA shelf wouldn't take up any more space and is much cheaper. and you won't bump into it when reaching for that glass.

floating teak endtables with drawers are another cheaper vintage piece via craigslist or ebay.

this looks like a doorless medicine cabinet.....idea number three.
