Look: Accordian-style Aluminum Attic Ladders

011209atlaladder01.jpgHave an attic but a limited amount of space that won't allow for a traditional fold down staircase? This spring-loaded suspension ladder offers from 9 to 15 steps to reach your stored away Precious Moments collection and those love letters from your jr. high sweetheart. And don't worry, the ladder will support over 1000lbs of weight, so hauling up and down any stored away memories comes with the assurance you yourself won't become a memory due to an accident...

011209atlaladder02.jpgAvailable from the Attic Group, also in fold up traditional wood option or an economy lightweight aluminum form that could work well for access to overhead garage space.

It's "accordion" not "accordian" FYI.

I'd LOVE of these for accessing the furnace in the attic! But the scuttle is very close to the door in my walk in closet. I wonder how vertical this can go and still be used? (The cheaper more available drop-down stairs would run through the door and out of the closet -- at some point climbing the steps you'd decapitate yourself!) Probably have to stick with the ladder stored down the hall in that other closet...

I clicked onto the website, but they're in Australia. Is there a place to get these attic ladders here in LA?
