Look! Freestanding Bookcase Ideas

081508_book01a.jpgWe love the look of a freestanding or independent bookcase that doesn't need a wall to feel stable in a space. While it's common to place a bookshelf against a wall, setting the case in the room or floating near another piece of furniture allows for a new design flow and interest in your space.

081508_cb201.jpgWe love CB2s Axis storage unit shown in their new Fall catalog. The mix and match style allows you to create a wraparound bookcase or an independent side table at any length you prefer. We personally prefer the look of the wraparound style. The clean lines compliment almost any couch.

081508_book03.jpgThe Linteloo Circular Bookcase is fresh and interesting and would fit well in a corner of a room. Jonathan recently posted about this uniquely designed bookcase here.

081508_book02.jpgOne of Apartment Therapy's favorites - Ikea's Expedit Bookcase. We love seeing this piece as a room divider or floating near another piece of furniture, similar to the Axis storage unit.

I'm digging the circular bookcase. Too bad there is no where near to get it.
