Pier 1 Imports has always been a place to find asian inspired accents and furniture. However, they usually tend to skew on the darker side of the color spectrum- focusing on dark woods, or deep reds, golds, and blacks. Over the weekend, we were happily surprised to see they've lightened up quite a bit. Case in point: this Miso Shelving ($449).
We think it would be great in a dining room or living room. It's open shelving is arranged in an asymetric way to accomodate items both small and tall. It's also finished in a glossy white melamine top coat and it also has two drawers to hold linens, silverware, or other odds and ends. A great piece to add some freshness to your space this Spring.
love!...unfortunately, no room.
when i got a tiny part time between high school & going to college, i worked there. for that reason, i don't suggest ever buying their furniture. if you've bought their stuff & it didn't break, congrats, but it's rare. the couches seemed to have ok frames, but things were constantly chipping or sompletely falling apart. i don't know whether it was the small storage, the packing, or the bad materials.
i say stick to the accessories.
